HDMI INTRODUCTION (High Definition Multimedia Interface) 

High Definition relates to the resolution that your screen is capable of displaying.

The resolution standard of high definition is 720p, 1080i and 1080p  (The i is Interlace and the p is Progressive line scanning)

HDMI has the ability to carry not only digital video but also up to eight channels (7.1) in uncompressed digital audio such as Dolby Digital and DTS "Digital Surround".

HDMI supports every uncompressed standard, enhanced and high definition formats ranging from 480i to 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p

It also supports PAL formats and most standard PC formats like VGA, XGA and SXGA. All our HDMI leads meet 1080p v1.3B
